Hudson, Graham, 2016, Show, Exhibition or Event, Test Sculpture X in 'Fuck Newton' mixed show

Abstract or Description:

Test Sculpture X is a part of the mixed show 'Fuck Newton', KARST, Plymouth, UK.
Test Sculpture X features two primary components:
A Test LP Vinyl Record and and Muscle Building Protein Powder.

A Test LP provides tracks for testing channel balance, bias, phasing and azimuth. the LP’s acoustic engineering refers to a listener's ability to identify the origin of a sound in direction and distance. The Binaural capacity of the sound and listener refers to Astral projection and the potential for out of body perception.
It includes an empty track, where there is nothing in the groove, this track is completely unmodulated. Played back at normal listening levels the stylus will highlight any noise created by the analog rig; a worn bearing, noisy motor or poor vibration control. Playback of this track should, ideally (but unlikely) to be completely silent. It also includes a full range frequency system check on both channels, a 20Hz -20KHz sweep. No two people will hear this the same as it passes through the spectrum of human hearing.

‘Serious MASS’ is protein powder produced by Optimum Nutrition.
MASS, as defined in the dictionary:
1. The quantity of matter that a body contains, as measured by its acceleration under a given force.. E.G: Newton’s second law: ‘Acceleration is produced when a force acts on a mass’
2. The sacrament of the Eucharist as practised in the Catholic Church. E,G Pope Francis Leads Mass In Syria"
3. A coherent, typically large body of matter with no definite shape. E.G: ‘A mass of rubble’ ‘
4. To assemble, or cause to assemble into a mass, or as one body. E.G:  ‘A mass of refugees’
5. To gain strength and size in the muscle. E.G: ‘If you want to add muscle mass to your frame'
