Rankin, Qona, 2016, Show, Exhibition or Event, Participation in Creative Differences: Dyslexia and Neurodiversity in Science, Art and Design
Abstract or Description: | An exhibition of 12 pieces of work made by staff and alumni of the RCA with an assessment of dyslexia and or dyspraxia. 20 personal stories from staff and alumni from the RCA and Imperial College. The 3 reasons for this event: - To celebrate the wealth of neurodiversity in particular dyslexia and dyspraxia, within two universities, so that we can appreciate each other’s brilliance and possibly make professional links within our disciplines. - To show off our amazingly creative and diverse work, to hopefully inspire young people who may be having a real struggle with school because they think a little bit differently from the majority. - To acknowledge the perseverance, commitment and refusal to give up that this extraordinary group of people have and to celebrate their creative advantages to do with an unpredictable and original way of thinking, all of which makes them terrific role models for young people. |
