Jones, Sarah, 2016, Show, Exhibition or Event, Implosion 20
Abstract or Description: | This exhibition is of new works by gallery artists. Jones has chosen to exhibit a work from a new larger body of work currently in process that takes as its starting point Freud's only visit to America, a lecture he gave referring to such, and to what came later to be known as The Porcupine Illusion. This new work explores: entropy, transformation, notions of transference, the surrogate, the split and the encounter in photography. Presented in Anton Kern Gallery, New York, the show is based around the concept of implosion, not as a destructive force but as a centering force and act of integration. |
