Part of a visual record kept of encounters and environments experienced during fieldwork undertaken during summer 2009 at operational and preserved mining sites in Alaska. In 2010 ‘Tourists Panning for Gold’ was shortlisted in the Royal Anthropological Institute’s ‘Meaning of Water’ photo competition.
