Abstract or Description: | Burning Down Memory represents an investigation into the limits of symbolic representation and its relationship to cultural memory. The images document a cybernetic loop in which the artist was sometimes electrocuted, subject to her anxiety levels. By wearing both EEG and Galvanic skin sensors the more intense the artist's anxiety the more damage was inflicted upon both her, through electrocution, and a digital image of a South London bomb site. |
