Hosea, Birgitta, 2016, Journal Article, Ralph Bakshi’s Wizards (DVD) Viewfinder online, 2016 (105). p. 21. ISSN 0952-4444
Abstract or Description: | This review of the re-released animated feature film 'Wizards' on DVD, argues for a critical re-examination of the controversial work of director, Ralph Bakshi. Although his work was dismissed as offensive by contemporary audiences, his animations offer a rare example of an intersectional urban society with characters from a range of different backgrounds. His intention with 'Wizards' was to create a family oriented film that tackled social and political issues. |
