The present document contains a summary of the notes gathered from the main topics discussed on the sessions of the International Conference Future State 2016: Innovation for the people, in a global meeting of the public sector. This meeting took place on March 30th and 31st, at Centro Gabriela Mistral (GAM), Santiago of Chile. This conference was organized by Laboratorio de Gobierno of the Government of Chile and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The two-day conference was compound by a combination of plenary sessions, where public sector practitioners learned about international research and the experience on innovation in the public sector, told from first-hand; discussion sessions focused on the conversation around challenges for innovation and its enablers; and workshops, where participants used new tools and methods to solve public problems.

The notes summarised in this document were developed by the team of Laboratorio de Gobierno. The summary project was overseen by Nicolás Rebolledo, commissioned by the OECD Observatory for Public Sector Innovation (OPSI).
