Abstract or Description: | Running from the 13th – 21st September, as a part of London Design Festival, No Man’s Land was a weeklong programme of events, launching a radical new movement that deals specifically with gender politics in the creative industries. Across talks, performances and workshops, the project challenged restrictive stereotypes in order to develop an inclusive gender-neutral approach to the creative industries including architecture, interiors, industrial design and more. My contribution was as a presenter and panel member in the symposium: discussing the subject of gender in design and questioning whether gender prejudice and bias restricts the individual’s creative practice, what is gender-neutral space, and to whether gender inequality is still relevant in the creative industries, who or what is sustaining it? |
