| Abstract or Description: | The radical⇌matter journal unfolds as a two-volume journey through shifting relations between art, science, technology, and ecology. At a moment marked by human-interspecies-machine co-evolution and generative AI, creative practitioners possess the methodologies needed to shape AI's cultural and ethical directions. Bringing together essays, artworks, field notes, and experimental propositions from a four-year artistic research project (FWF PEEK), both volumes operate as "snakes" mirroring the ancient game of undecidability and ethical entanglements. Volume 1 traces entanglements of matter, data, and affect through the multi-sensory tentacles of the common octopus. Volume 2 unfolds via mycelium's sporing techniques toward interspecies forms of aliveness embodying the sensuous symbiotic intelligence of fungal networks. Together, they form a living archive challenging boundaries between disciplines, methods, and species. |
