Richon, Olivier, 2019, Show, Exhibition or Event, Anima(l).
Abstract or Description: | The show gathers the work of 40 artists, using different media and techniques, such as painting, casting, drawing, ceramics, photography, video and taxidermy. The exhibition asks the following question: what is an animal? The answer to this question seems simple: every being that does not belong to the human species. The animal is here understood as the radical figure of alterity, interpellating us and undermining the distinction human/animal. The show privileges metaphorical transcriptions of this alterity, as much as it also indicate the irreducible beast that remains within every animal, even the most domesticated ones. |
