Britton, Alison, 2016, Show, Exhibition or Event, Traipse, Slide (2014) and Dark Jar, Flute (2015)
Abstract or Description: | 4 ceramic works of mine titled Traipse, Slide (2014) and Dark Jar, Flute (2015) were chosen by curator Edmund de Waal for this exhibition. Geknetetes Wissen - die Sprache der Keramik (Kneaded Knowledge - The language of Ceramics) was a major international historic and contemporary exhibition, organised by curator Peter Pakesch at Kunsthaus Graz, who invited Edmund de Waal and Ai Weiwei to contribute major works of their own, and curate selected works to supplement their own and extend the range of the discussion on the language of ceramics. Edmund de Waal chose four works from my retrospective at V&A museum in 2015. Initially opened in Austria, the exhibition transferred to the Czech Republic, where it was shown at the National Gallery in Prague. Both museums made their own catalogue. My work Traipse (2014) was illustrated in both catalogues |
