Miles, Jonathan, 2017, Show, Exhibition or Event, Painting and Spacing
Abstract or Description: | This was a series of interlocking presentations that utilised the relationship between the floor and the wall as a constant factory. In all there was four separate presentations which articulated the spaces in different ways but always with the aim of balancing the floor with the walls. In the past I have invariably employed fiction as a device for de-centring the stability of identity but there was no textual element at all. Partly the investigation was in how presentation and spacing function to regulate the reading of the overall work. Each presentation was an installation related to the reading of parts and the whole. |
