Ash, Jesse and Spooner, Call, 2010, Show, Exhibition or Event, The Moveable Column, episode 1
Abstract or Description: | The Moveable Column is produced and co-presented by Jesse Ash and Cally Spooner. The first four episodes ran during 2010-14. For episode 1 artist Ben Cain joins Jesse and Cally in the Resonance FM Studio 1, to discuss 'No end to objects. Why not', a proposal for a never-ending sound piece. With a contribution from Curator Mathieu Copeland. ___________________________________________ The Moveable Column, is a radio talk show. Using Peter Bissegger and Harold Szeemann’s reconstruction of Kurt Schwitters’ Merzbau in Hanover as a starting point, the show explores the possibilities of reconstruction, finitude, rehearsal, performance, and progress, that surround Merzbau's history and present status. Broadcast live, with Resonance FM, the Moveable Column invites artists, curators and writers, whose practice also navigates these ideas, to contribute to each new show, developing a constellation of collected material around Merzbau. Authors plan to run new episodes in 2017. |
