This piece (in spanish) discusses the idea that cities will become smarter because of the deployment and adoption of the new wave of digital technologies. In opposition, it develops the question about how are we are going to be able to steer this socio-technical shift to improve the quality of life of the citizens. The article is part of an ongoing discussion among different Latin-American cities about the transition from "Smartcities" to "Smartcitizens".
